Aquanauts does not substitute lower-quality Taiwanese and off-brand BCDs, masks, snorkels, gloves and boots as do competing internship programs.

Suunto Gekko dive computer console model

Suunto Gekko Diving Computer

Suunto Gekko can be used with both air and nitrox, and it is designed to give the specifics of any diving situation, including decompression, at a glance.

Suunto Gekko uses the Suunto Reduced Gradient Bubble Model (RGBM) decompression model and has a user-replaceable battery and adjustable metric/imperial units.

Suunto Gekko is equipped with a super bright phosphorescent display that can be charged with a dive torch. This ensures that you can easily view the display in dark conditions for extensive periods of time.

Easy-to-use push buttons and a straightforward menu structure make Suunto Gekko simple to operate. The extensive logbook memory stores up to 50 hours of dive profiles and logbook data, including the dive start time and date, dive time, the maximum depth attained and the temperature at maximum depth. Additionally, the dive history keeps track of up to 999 dives and 999 dive hours, as well as the maximum depth ever reached.

Both ascent rate and available no-decompression time are displayed graphically with clear color-coded indicators. Visual and audible alarms are given when necessary. You can also enable maximum depth and dive time alarms.

Note the Gekko dive computer is not included with the Master Scuba Diver Traineeship equipment package.

Suunto SK-7 Compass

The superior SK-7 has an exceptional tilt potential of +/-30 degrees, which is 2-3 times larger than in conventional diving compasses. The firm-grip bezel with a ratchet at every fifth degree is especially designed to prevent sand and dirt contamination, thus allowing smooth turning in all conditions. The compass is available as wrist, console and hose-mounted models.

The SK-7 can also be fitted on the Suunto Cobra dive computer. It has easy-to-read numerals on a phosphorescent compass card and a large side-reading window.

420 stainless steel is an ideal material for diving knives, but is not completely free from rust. After each dive, be sure to wash the blade thoroughly with fresh water, dry it completely and coat it with silicone oil or the like, and you can effectively prevent it from rusting.
