Become the Best Search & Rescue Diver Possible with Professional Emergency Response Diver Training; Get Accommodations and Premium Equipment Included
Turn your love of diving into a truly rewarding career by becoming an Emergency Response Diver. Whether jumping out of helicopters to rescue the crew of a sinking vessel, freeing trapped cavern divers or recovering key police evidence, public safety divers enjoy excitement and challenges few recreational divers ever see.
Now you can train for a fulfilling career as a public safety diver at Aquanauts through the Professional Emergency Response Training suite of courses. When you graduate, you'll be qualified to join a professional public safety dive team.
The PERT Basic Upgrade program is not for everyone. It can only be done one of two ways:
- As an upgrade to an Aquanauts professional internship or non-professional or technical diving traineeship
- As a standalone course if you are already a certified PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent) and have 100 or more logged dives. If you have fewer than that, or are even entirely new to diving, then you need either the PERT Standard or PERT / PADI Professional Internship.
Complete Public Safety / Search & Rescue Training
The second part of the training will take you from the world of recreational diving to that of the professional public safety / rescue diver. Also known as emergency response divers, these highly-trained professionals are often the only hope for people involved in water-involved accidents. Their training far exceeds what’s expected of a recreational diving professional because, in their line of work, lives depend upon the success of every dive.
You'll be certified as a public safety diver through the Professional Emergency Response Training organization. Aquanauts is the only private-sector PERT training center in all of Asia and, worldwide, only Aquanauts offers this combined PERT / PADI internship.
You'll complete your PERT courses as your progress through your PADI internship. Each course has higher and higher prerequisites, so you'll need take full advantage of the unlimited diving offered to build up the required number of dives and experience. The entire program includes:
- Encapsulated Diver - Be dive-ready for any environment with PERT Encapsulated Diver. It integrates two previously separate courses – Dry Suit and Full-Face Mask w/Surface Communications – to provide a student training that’s as close to real-world conditions as possible.
- Self-Sufficiency Diver - Public safety divers don't always have the luxury of a dive buddy. The PERT Self-Sufficiency Diver course is designed to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving without a buddy.
- Low-Visibility & Black Water Search Diver - Professional rescue divers work at night, in swift currents, churned up seas and zero visibility. This PERT courses teaches you the techniques you'll need when the bell sounds.
- PERT Emergency Response Diver -- One of the most-demanding -- and fulfilling -- dive courses you'll ever take, Emergency Response Diver is the final course in the PERT suite. After it, you can apply for a position on a public safety dive team.
- All PERT training materials, equipment rental and certification fees are included.
