Collecting 11 perfect scores, Aquanauts Diving Instructor Training class of April 2006 earned their certification as new PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors at April’s PADI Instructor Exam in Pattaya.
Proving in stronger terms than ever before that Aquanauts’ Personalized Training System produces well-prepared and trained instructors, six of Aquanauts’ “Magnificent Seven” interns scored perfect scores of 5.0 during the rigorous confined water tests and five scored perfect 5s during the open water trials.
“Going into the IDC you had people that were motivated independently and those that weren’t as independently motivated, but the leadership we got from (In-house Course Directors) John Taylor and Roger (Smith) plus (Master Instructor) Gary (Tytler), brought everyone together as a unit,” said new instructor Colin Stuart. “And because the course directors and instructors were so fussy and detailed, we weren’t allowed any slack. Even if we got one word wrong, we were marked down, so that really made us strive even harder. And the scores reflected that.”
The April IDC, with seven candidates, was the largest ever run by the Aquanauts intern program. But, holding to the principle of small class sizes, the group was split with each getting a Course Director and either a Master Instructor or IDC Staff Instructor. Congratulations to Colin Stuart, Chris Hutton, Laurent Biehler, Tim Green, Travis Blake, Nick Didzun and Grant Fellows.
