Aquanauts Diving Instructor Training minted two more instructors after the November 2006 PADI Instructor Exam. Congratulations go out to Richard Weinberg and Gerad Patterson who both spent four months with Aquanauts training to become Open Water Scuba Instructors.
This month's Instructor Development Course and IE were perfect examples of how grueling the course and exam can be. While Aquanauts gives interns months to work on skills and academics and has instructors available daily for extra skills work or academic tutoring, in the end it comes down to the student to make the best use of time and resources. Nothing in life -- or dive training -- is guaranteed. Case in point: This month five inerns started the IDC, three went to the Instructor Exam and two passed. Two of these get a second IDC at no charge as part of their internship and the one IE candiate who didn't make it through must simply resit the written exams. All are confident that this time next month, their smiling pictures will be on this page.
Check out the photos below from the IDC and IE.
