Instructor Development Course & IE -- July 2007

A few months ago, Dean Thraves was celebrating his certification as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Today he's standing alongside fellow Aquanauts intern Ed Gray as a new IDC Staff Instructor.

sailed through his Instructor Exam after taking his IDC with Aquanauts two in-house Course Directors, Roger Smith and John Taylor. His success is even more commendable in that he didn't have the advantage of having fellow interns on the exam with him. For the first time in about 18 months, Aquanauts had only one candidate for this IE.

Dean, meanwhile, enjoyed his experience training to be, first, a Master Scuba Diver Trainer and, then, IDC Staff Instructor so much he's inspired Ed to stay on and follow the same route. Ed will now embark on working with Aquanauts to teach 25 courses and then, possibly, do his own Staff course in September.
