PADI Instructor Development Course & Exam -- September 2008
The fall is typically a slow season for PADI instructor training an, in September, Aquanauts Career Development Center saw only one intern take -- and pass -- the PADI Instructor Exam.
Gary Gwilliam, a British national who spent decades living in America as a member of the U.S. Navy, overcame injury and illness to become Aquanauts CDC's latest instructor.
Of the dive schools In a very small Pattaya Instructor Exam class, only Aquanauts students make it through with no fails and no makeups. And, for the year, only Aquanauts has a perfect, 100% pass rate for all its dive professional training students.
"It wasn't easy," Gwilliam said. "But I'm very grateful for the instruction I received. At Aquanauts, you can be confident that the information and teaching you receive from your course director is correct and will get your through your exam."
Gary road to instructor wasn't easy. He joined Aquanauts in March but fell ill with pneumonia and had a debiliating back and shoulder injuries that kept him out of the water for weeks. But he never failed and was a studious, receptive student who welcomed all the help from Aquanauts insturctors and fellow interns to get him through.
This IDC was staffed by Course Director Roger Smith (not pictured), Master Instructor Gary Tytler and IDC Staff Instructor Sally Rathbone.
There's no instructor exam in Pattaya in October, but look forward to a large class of Aquanauts interns who will be taking their exam in November.
