PADI Instructor Development Course & Exam - February 2008

Aquanauts begins 2009 like it finished 2008, with a perfect PADI Instructor Exam and the certification of three new Open Water Scuba Instructors. Congratulations go out to Aquanauts interns David Phillips and Helen Davies and IDC candidate Michelle Trigg, who joined Aquanauts after doing her Divemaster course in nearby Koh Chang.

The IDC was staffed by Course Director Roger Smith, Master Instructor Gary Tytler and IDC Staff Instructor Sally Rathbone. Below are photos from the classroom and confined water portions of February's IDC.

Getting out of the classroom, the IDC class heads to Aquanauts exclusive-use swimming pool, one of the nicest and largest in Pattaya.

In another skill, David shows how to safely avoid a "panicked" diver.

Sally and Roger ponder the marks in the hot Thai sun. Fortunately for Roger, his second grading slate also nicely doubles as a hat.
